On 7th August 2023 we received an email from Sport England advising us that we need to demonstrate full compliance with all of their recognition criteria by 1 October 2023 or face de-recognition. We were shocked and saddened by this email as we had been working with them for the best part of a year in response to information requested by them. We are, of course, treating their email as a priority and have already convened a number of meetings to discuss the best approach for ju-jitsu and our members. Since the COVID pandemic when almost all aspects of ju-jitsu training came to a halt, we have been working extremely hard with a number of parties to see how we can best serve our members as your Governing Body. We will be presenting the results of this review shortly after the British Championships in September and look forward to continuing working with you all to strengthen our position, and ju-jitsu, for the benefit of everyone.
